Well, that settles it! By a nearly 2 to 1 margin, we've opted to steer Bozeman TV-show based conversations away from this board. I might put up a link to one of the subs that a redditor created below. Thanks for expressing your opinions, everyone! I'll leave this stickied long enough for the Monday morning slackers to read at work.

karlthebaer

It'll be confusing. This sub should be about the actual community. There can be a bozemantvshow sub reddit. Just my 2 cents.

riversandhills

There definitely shouldn't be threads discussing the content of episodes or anything. However, if there's an interesting article about the show as it relates to Montana and Bozeman, like about filming and all that (like the Chronicle one you linked), I think that probably still fits the sub.

runningoutofwords

I agree.

michaelmacmanus

Yes, absolutely it should be banned. A local sub and an entertainment sub are two disparate things. I just gobbled up r/bozemantv and r/bozemantvshow so you can redirect posters to that. I'll happily cough up the sub to anyone in good faith that wants to mod those. I'll be surprised if its significant enough to warrant an online reddit community, but at the minimum you can have a redirect for confused redditors.

OldheadBoomer

Shove it all into a once-a-week r/Bozeman TV Show post, remove anything else.

runningoutofwords

Someone is going to create at least one subreddit devoted to the show. *Yellowstone* has a couple. I'd say let them post there. But we're trying to avoid too much dictatorial power here these days (except when it amuses us) so we're open to community opinion.

sharalds

Hard imagining you'd come close to the overreach of what's his face so don't worry about that too much. Nice of you to ask though. Is the show actually about our town? If so some of the posts might be valid. Plotline drama I'd personally rather not read.

runningoutofwords

Article linked above. It's about John Bozeman, but probably not about the cad he really was.

sharalds

I missed "this crap" link. Thanks for pointing it out. I suspect you're right in that he'll be painted out as more of an explorer and hero than a deadbeat.

runningoutofwords

Yeah, he had a reputation as a ladies man. Except as a frontier town, all the ladies in Bozeman were married. His death served multiple purposes...ridded the town of a cad, and blaming it on the Indians brought justification for building Ft Ellis (which made the Bozemanites a lot of money).

taterred

This sub is about Bozeman Montana... not some tv show.

WelpSigh

Isn't it filmed in the Bozeman area? I think discussion as to how it relates to real world Bozeman things are fine (including history) but actual talk about the TV show should go elsewhere. i.e. "The crew of the Bozeman show donated $1k to a local charity!" -great "The Bozeman show said that John Bozeman was a werewolf. Does anyone know if that's true?" -fine "Did anyone catch Bozeman last night? I thought that episode was great!" -nah

karlthebaer

John Bozeman wasn't the werewolf, the was old man Story.

runningoutofwords

Yep, that's why I specified "fan discussion" as the banned content. Your examples are a great synopsis of the difference.

NoWoke

The Yellowstone show is actually quite good. Although the title is a bit misleading
